Drop a Course
You can drop a student only from a course that the student is currently attending. If the course that you are dropping is a required course, it will be added to the student's schedule with a future status.
When you register, unregister, and drop courses for students, Anthology Student performs validations and identifies conflicts. If you have the required specialized permissions, you can override the conflicts.
If your institution configured Anthology Student to automatically unregister conditional courses, Anthology Student automatically unregisters the courses unless you have the permission to override it.
If the course is associated with the degree pathway for the student, the course remains assigned to its term.
Prerequisites
You must have:

Common - Student - View authorization

Academics - Student Course - Edit authorization
The course must have a Current or Scheduled status.
To override conflicts, you must have the appropriate specialized permission. For example:

Allow maximum students in class and Add/Drop date Override - All Campuses or Allow maximum students in class and Add/Drop date Override - Users Campuses Only

Allow Prerequistie and Corequistie override for drop/unregister
You should also be familiar with the Background for Requisite Validations and Conflicts.
Access Method
Select the Students tile > select the name in the Students list > expand Academic Records > select the Student Courses tile.
Procedure to Drop a Course

Select a record in the list, and select the Drop button.

Specify the following values.
Whether or not you have to select a value for Reason depends on whether or not your institution configured reasons. If it did, a value for Reason is required.

Select the Drop button.

Take the appropriate action on the dialog. The action depends on Whether or not Anthology Student found conflicts during validation, the options your institution specified in Settings, and your permissions.
Conflicts Found? Action to Take No If you:

Want to continue with the Drop, select the Drop button on the dialog

Do not want to continue with the drop, select the Cancel button on the dialog

If you want to view details about the conflict, select the View Details link

Do not have permission to override, Anthology Student only displays the Don't Override and Cancel buttons. If you:

Want to continue dropping the course, select Don't Override. If your institution configured Anthology Student to automatically unregister conditional courses, it automatically unregisters the conditional courses that meet the criteria your institution specified in Settings.

Do not want to drop the course, select Cancel.

Have permission to override, Anthology Student displays the Override, Don't Override, and Cancel buttons. If you want to:

Want to drop the course and unregister condtional course, select Don't Override. If your institution configured Anthology Student to automatically unregister conditional course, it automatically unregisters the conditional courses that meet the criteria your institution specified in Settings.

Want to override the conflicts and drop the course without unregistering conditional courses, select Override. Anthology Student drops the course only.

Do not want to drop the course, select Cancel.

For the courses you drop and the courses Anthology Student unregisters automatically, Anthology Student:

Changes the status of the course to Future in the Student Course list and on the Degree Progress Audit page

Adds an entry for the change to the course on the Course Status Changes tab on the Audit page
